BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg has been accused of some poor behavior in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon explosion. For instance, some (actually kind of hilarious) verbal gaffes and the awkward decision to continue vacationing on his yacht in Thailand for a good few days after the well started gushing. Now, National Enquirer reveals that the woman he was with on said yacht, Louise Julian, a 51-year-old mother of three, happened to be married at the time. She’s since filed for divorce from her husband of eighteen years, presumably in order to be with Svanberg, who was himself divorced last year. The Enquirer and the Post are all pissed about it, calling Svanberg “oily,” “a slimeball,” a homewrecker, and what have you. But wait. With all due respect to Louise’s husband, as a lady approaching her twilight years, we have to ask: Shouldn’t the story of an oil magnate with a yacht choosing an age-appropriate mate be something we applaud?
