Fox News Angling for Helen Thomas’s Vacated Seat

Helen Thomas’s empty seat is still warm, but Fox News is already making a play for her coveted front-row real estate in the White House Briefing Room. Sources in the White House Correspondents’ Association (which oversees the seating arrangements) said Fox has been arguing for years that it deserves a spot in the front row alongside CNN, ABC, and MSNBC, who sit next to the Associated Press and Reuters. But the news outlet will have to fight it out with some heavy hitters for the perch: The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bloomberg News, and Washington Post are also said to be angling for the seat. The decision could come down as soon as Thursday.
