Israel assembled its government-appointed commission late Sunday, which will be charged with investigating the circumstances surrounding the controversial flotilla incident. The panel, called the Independent Public Commission, will be led by retired Israeli Supreme Court justice Jacob Turkel, and will include experts in international law, as well as two foreign observers — a Nobel Peace laureate from Ireland and a former judge advocate general of the Canadian forces.
