Jezebel Founding Editor Anna Holmes to Leave at End of Month

Anna Holmes, who just celebrated Jezebel.com’s and her three-year anniversary, will be leaving the feisty women’s site she co-founded in 2007. Her replacement as editor-in-chief will be Jessica Coen, nymag.com’s beloved former managing editor, who decamped for there in late January. Holmes says this has been a planned transition since late 2009. “I have been talking to [Coen] and bugging her since probably 2008,” she told Intel today over IM. “I decided I was tired and wanting a new challenge late last year — but I also love my job and the site so it took me a while to settle on a decision.” In her good-bye post, she said she’d stick around to consult on book and TV projects for the site. “My plan is this: Have fun this summer, do a little work, and then decide if I want to create something new again. (I probably will.),” she said. “And I’m going to try to learn how to write again, because I think I forgot.”
