It’s summer in New York, the time when all underpants-wearing tourist attractions make hay while the sun shines. And the Naked Cowboy, a.k.a. Robert Burck, is tired of an aging stripper horning in on his turf. We first spotted Sandy Kane, the Naked Cowgirl Granny, in Times Square exactly two years ago. Kane is a burlesque performer who hosts her own public-access show and is a regular on the Opie and Anthony show, where she’s known for her “Twatto,” a large genital wart that looks like an ear (Safe For Work, if barfing at your desk is considered acceptable at your office). She’s also a musician who has attempted to perform a duet with the Naked Cowboy, but refuses to fork over $500 a month to license his trademarked act. For a couple of years he’s tolerated her, but the man who took down the M&Ms only has so much patience. Now he’s fired off a cease-and-desist letter against her and is threatening to drag Kane to court. No word if Twatto will be allowed to remain performing.
