Observer Hires Harleen Kahlon to Head Up Digital Arm

Just after Tyler Thoreson left his post as digital managing editor at the Observer, the salmon paper brought in Harleen Kahlon to serve as general manager for their online operations. They swiped Kahlon from TheStreet.com, where she was general manager of their personal-finance section, and, we hear, much beloved by Jim Cramer. A graduate of Yale Law School, Kahlon has had an interesting trajectory: According to her LinkedIn profile, her digital debut was as the founder of DamselsInSuccess.com, a “site designed to spark dialogue between professional women on topics related to career, family and life.” Sounds like a good addition to the top of the masthead at the Observer, which, according to the Awl, has become “very bro” of late.
