It seems as if BP CEO Tony Hayward is being rewarded for withstanding a full day of getting berated by Congress. According to BP chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, “Everyone believed it to be something we could deal with faster, and then [Tony Hayward] would come back … and now he has been around for eight weeks. He’s now handing over the operations to Bob Dudley, and he will be more home and be there and be here,” which we think is a Swedish way of saying that this Bob Dudley is the man to blame for everything that goes wrong in the Gulf from now on.
