Picking up on a pseudo-spiritual trend that was popular when Madonna did it about a decade ago, Governor Paterson began wearing a red Kabbalah bracelet on his right hand recently after learning about it after visiting the Union Field Cemetery in Ridgewood this past spring.
“It was explained to the governor that the red string is a symbol of protection [that] wards off problems and tribulations,” Paterson spokesman Morgan Hook said.
“His attitude was that he’ll take all the help he can get.”
It seems like Paterson kind of missed the boat on the whole “warding off problems and tribulations” thing, unfortunately. But better late than never, we guess.
