Rush Limbaugh’s Penthouse Sells for $11.5 Million

Rush Limbaugh — who vowed to “get out of New York totally” when the state adopted a temporary income-tax surcharge last year — has found a buyer for his Fifth Avenue, ten-room penthouse. The condo — which looks out over Central Park at East 86th Street, and which the radio-show host paid just under $5 million for in 1994 — sold for slightly under the $12.95 million asking price, according to brokers, with one broker telling the Journal the final amount was about $11.5 million. It’s hard to blame the buyer for shelling out that much dough; who could turn down such a tasteful and subdued bedroom mural?
