Google Says Good-bye to Wave

After it was released last year with much fanfare and promotion, Google Wave will be entering Internet heaven. Google announced Wednesday it is axing the (overly complicated) messaging service due to a lack of interest from users. The company had been hoping Wave would completely revolutionize how people communicated online, describing the service as “part email, part Twitter and part instant messaging.” The endeavor wasn’t a complete loss for Google, though: The company’s senior vice-president of operations said Google will use Wave’s technology for other projects.
