When Gary Louisa was dying of cancer in December of 2008, he told his girlfriend that had been hiding a bag of dust from the World Trade Center (where he had helped to search for bodies after 9/11) in a secret, sacred place under the driver’s seat of his broken-down van. Apparently not that intrigued, she finally checked it out Monday, one and a half years later, and in addition to the bag of dust she found a piece of a steel beam and some bone fragments. They were not human bones, though, so there’s that, at least. [NYDN]
