Protestors for and Against Mosque Show Up in Lower Manhattan, All Get Rained On

Earlier this afternoon in lower Manhattan, about 250 supporters of the mosque planned near the World Trade Center site and about 450 people opposed to it held picket signs, chanted, and generally made their feelings known without physically attacking one another. The Coalition to Honor Ground Zero was organizing the rally against the construction of the center, and the NYC Coalition to Stop Islamophobia staged the counter-protest. The skies opened upon all of them.
