Both Tiger Woods and the mother of his two children, Elin Nordegren, were in court today in Panama City, Florida, to witness the final execution of their divorce. According to People, they released a statement saying, “We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.” The details of the agreement have been sealed, but reports indicate Nordegren will get $100 million, which is apparently more than she was set to receive in the prenup.
“Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure [the children’s] future well-being,” the statement also said. “The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”
Oh, enough with the whole privacy thing already. One of you married one of the most rich and famous athletes in the entire world, and the other one spent years sleeping with an untold number of desperate fame whores he barely knew.
