Being a woman is expensive. While it’s nice to have clothing options other than “pants” and “shirt,” the expense of purchasing said items can rack up, plus there’s the shoes and the waxing and, of course, the Pilates and the eating healthily so you don’t get fat. And it’s somewhat annoying to find out that even if you let those last things go, you still won’t necessarily have money left over for the nicer Lane Bryant caftans.
According to a report from George Washington University:
The report, “A Heavy Burden,” says this is due to “lower wages for obese women,” but that doesn’t really explain why they spend so much more. Maybe it’s because they love Luna bars? Those things are like three bucks.
