The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, housed on a floating aircraft carrier off the West Side Highway, is perhaps best known as a hub for Fleet Week activities and, to Intel Nitasha personally, as that place she covered the Big Apple Grapple arm-wrestling championship and the venue for that unfortunate mixer her freshman year. But Senator Schumer sees bigger things in Intrepid’s future — much bigger, and more intergalactic. Schumer says the Intrepid is poised to beat twenty other institutions around the country to bring a retired NASA space shuttle to the city. “Schumer said New York has stiff competition for the other shuttles from at least two other cities, which he refused to name.” If you don’t name them, it will come.
