You’ve stopped pretending that Facebook is anything more noble than a way to spy on your new crush, ex-boyfriend, high school frenemy, or Lloyd Blankfein-obsessed co-worker. And now, so has Facebook. The company is testing a new “stalker” button that will ping users with an alert every time specified friends take action on Facebook. The notification system, which lets you know about updates to their status or if they’ve posted new photos, videos, links, and notes, is currently being tested with a small number of users. For now, it doesn’t look like you can subscribe to people you’re not friends with — or opt out should you choose not to have hundreds of friends tap into an RSS feed of your life online.
