A new Quinnipiac poll asked Democrats who they were planning to vote for in the attorney-general primary on September 14 in which five candidates are vying for the nomination. Leading the way with 77 percent was “I don’t know,” followed in second place by “various people who are not actually in the race,” with 8 percent. And yet, many of these New Yorkers will probably end up voting for someone, anyone, for whatever reason they can come up with in that moment, even though they really don’t have to, and it’s definitely better if they don’t.
