Steve Jobs: Secret Ninja Assassin? [Updated]

Never come between a tech god and his feudal weaponry. SPA! magazine, which we sincerely hope is not Japan’s answer to The Onion, reported that Steve Jobs vowed not to return to Japan after officials at Kansai International Airport, near Osaka, prohibited the Apple CEO from carrying ninja throwing stars abroad his private plane. The weapons were found in Jobs’s carry-on luggage on his return flight to the U.S. after a family vacation in Kyoto. According to Bloomberg, in the official report Jobs argued that “it wouldn’t make sense for a person to try to hijack his own plane.” This was probably just Japan’s way of saying thanks for the flaming iPods.

Steve Jobs Stopped at Japan Airport Over Ninja Stars [Bloomberg]

Update: As we feared, SPA! magazine’s description of what happened at the airport was more fictional than fact-based. Apple’s official statement says, “Steve had a great time and hopes to visit Japan again soon.” Although, if Steve Jobs were a secret international ninja throwing-star assassin, owning Apple would be the pretty good cover. Just sayin’. [AllThingsD]
