Traffic Agent Beaten Violently by Double Parker With Apparent Rage Problem

Edgar Saeteros, a 35-year-old traffic agent, approached a car double parked on Virginia Avenue in the Bronx at about 8:30 a.m. this morning to issue a routine ticket. But while Saeteros was writing up the summons, the owner of the car arrived … and went absolutely berserk. He hit Saeteros in the head, punched him twice, and knocked him to the ground, before fleeing the scene on foot. Saeteros is now in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center with his wife and 11-year-old daughter by his side, and he has received a visit from NYPD commissioner Raymond Kelly and a phone call from Mayor Bloomberg. Saeteros’s attacker is still at large; police described him as Hispanic, about six feet tall, and 165 pounds. The police force said it is “confident” it will find him, though, considering he left behind his car. [NYDN, NYP]
