A Dutch newspaper is reporting that Joran van der Sloot — currently being held in Peru for the murder of a 21-year-old woman — has admitted to extorting money from Natalee Holloway’s parents as a way of getting back at them (he was charged with extortion in June, the same day as the Peru murder). The Dutchman said he offered to tell Holloway’s parents the location of their daughter’s body in return for the dough: “I wanted to get back at Natalee’s family — her parents have been making my life tough for five years … When they offered to pay for the girl’s location, I thought: ‘Why not’?” Weird … up until this point he’s seemed like such a stand-up guy.
