WikiLeaks is preparing what will allegedly be “the biggest leak of military intelligence that has ever occurred,” some three times larger than the trove of Afghanistan documents the site dumped in July, according to a Newsweek report. Iain Overton, editor of the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, told Newsweek that WikiLeaks is working with a number of media organizations on this newest array of materials, which are primarily “U.S. military field reports related to the Iraq War.” As for criticism the last time around that the leak put lives in danger, Overton said WikiLeaks and its media partners have “significantly learned from past experiences”: “We are hugely aware that this is an issue, and we’re taking it very seriously,” he said.
