A woman in the front row fainted during Bill Clinton’s stump speech on behalf of Senate candidate Joe Manchin yesterday. After calling for a doctor to come forward and asking that someone bring her water, Clinton told the crowd, “There’s nothing the rest of you can do, so pay attention to me. You’ll just get in the way. She’ll be fine. Believe me — at my age rarely does a lady faint on me,” flashing a wry smile, adding “Bless you,” possibly in the direction of her slumped body. With such poor polling numbers, it seems the Democrats’ latest strategy is to just respond charmingly to mid-speech mishaps and hope that’s all anyone remembers.
