According to the Wall Street Journal, Verizon will start selling iPhones early next year, as Apple is developing a new version of the smartphone which will be ready by the end of 2010. The new iPhone will be based on an “alternative wireless technology” called CDMA, which is used by Verizon. Though the Journal says their information comes from “people briefed by Apple,” Verizon customers may want to keep their excitement in check, as Apple declined to comment and these sorts of reports seem to emerge about every three months.
