Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo has yet to serve a single day in office, but his dad, former governor Mario Cuomo, is already thinking a few years down the line. “If Andrew with his bright mind comes up with good ideas and is able to implement them, then of course he ought to be considered for a higher place,” he told WVOX radio.
Obviously, this is a very “dad” thing to think and say about one’s son. But it also fits with what seems to be a trend of people promoting and speculating about certain politicians’ White House potential before they’ve even remotely had a chance to prove themselves worthy. See Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, and, of course, Barack Obama.
