Today two more lawsuits are expected to be filed against the government over the Defense of Marriage Act (in which the federal government defines legal marriage as between one man and one woman). The gay couples in these cases are following in the footsteps of the plaintiffs in a similar ongoing federal case, in which DOMA was ruled unconstitutional. The Justice Department is currently begrudgingly appealing that ruling. [NYT]
