Military Base That Tests Chemical and Biological Weapons on Lockdown

The U.S. Army’s Dugway Proving Ground, a military base in Utah that tests chemical and biological weapons, has been on lockdown since 7 p.m. last night “to resolve a serious concern,” but officials refuse to elaborate further. Spokeswoman Bonnie Robinson only told CNN that personnel was safe and working, no one was in immediate danger, and that no evacuation was needed. As of this morning, staffers outside the gate were being allowed in, with plans to let those inside get out. The proving ground, which covers 798,214 acres in the Great Salt Lake Desert, describes its work thusly: “Testers here determine the reliability and survivability of all types of military equipment in a chemical or biological environment.” Wait a second, isn’t this how The Stand started?
