Fresh off last week’s brilliantly awkward Q&A with a female Goldman executive, Times Magazine columnist Deborah Solomon announced to the Observer today that she’s leaving behind her Q&A feature. “My immediate plan is to devote myself to my long-overdue, almost-finished biography of Norman Rockwell, which will be published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux,” she tells the salmon-tinted paper. “I had eight great years writing the column, and I have been encouraged by the paper’s top brass to continue writing for the paper. Naturally, I also plan to continue asking as many impertinent questions as possible.” Solomon was swept out as a part of new editor Hugo Lindgren’s housecleaning efforts as he shapes the magazine into his own image. He’s also done away with Virginia Heffernan’s “The Medium” column.
