Man Gets Fifteen Years in Prison for Stealing Deodorant

This has got to be one of our all-time favorite Stupid Crimes of the Day. Forty-three-year-old Eric Warren of Newark, NJ, was convicted on December 2 of stealing $180 worth of deodorant from a Rite-Aid. For this, he was sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Why the outrageous-seeming punishment? Because he’s been in prison three times prior for theft and aggravated assault. Also, since 1988, he’s been arrested 74 times. Apparently, the 75th time’s a charm.
