Community Board 6 Might Ban Bar Crawls

Manhattan Community Board 6, which covers 14th to 59th Streets between the East River and Lexington Avenue, is reportedly mulling a ban on pub crawls, described nicely by the New York Post as “those nights of revelry in which organized groups stumble from bar to bar and imbibe at great discounts.” Pub crawls are apparently too loud and obnoxious for some neighborhood residents, who have complained about “rowdy revelers vomiting in the streets.” But as many have already noted, enforcing an official ban on pub crawls would be pretty tough. For instance, should you find yourself vomiting alone, from 14th to 59th Street, it might not be an official pub crawl, but it’s something. And that’s something that no community board hardass is going to take from us. Or from you. For instance. [NYP]
