During a discussion of the loss of American manufacturing jobs on ABC’s This Week yesterday, Senator John McCain claimed that while “cheaper, lower-cost labor products” will inevitably be built in foreign countries, high-tech products like iPhones and iPads are still made right here in the old U.S. of A. In reality, though, they’re made in China, like everything else. Maverick! Later his office released a statement that read, “Senator McCain is aware they were designed but not assembled in the U.S.” Well, yeah, now. [Ticket/Yahoo]
