Michael Sorodsky, the fake doctor who molested and raped several women who came to him for holistic cancer treatments, pleaded guilty to twenty charges today. He was sentenced to six years, half of which he served while awaiting trial. Sorodsky was originally indicted on 102 counts and held on an $11 million bail. He pleaded guilty to twenty charges — including eleven counts of sexual abuse and one count of first-degree rape.
The prosecution was disappointed with the sentence. “As expressed in court, our office strongly disagrees with the sentence and is exploring all possible avenues to ensure this defendant will never harm others again,” said Lauren Passalacqua, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Had he not pleaded, he could have been sentenced to up to 25 years on the rape charge alone.
