Northwestern Prof Investigated for ‘Kinky People’ Field Trip

A psychology professor at Northwestern University is under fire after taking students on a field trip to a live sex show that involved a naked non-student woman being brought to orgasm by a sex toy called a “fucksaw.” Professor John Michael Bailey offered the after-class session to his Human Sexuality class, unsurprisingly one of the most popular courses at the school.

To be fair, the presentation was optional. But since this is a liberal-arts college, the show was attended by around 120 students. The session was run by Ken Melvoin-Berg, who runs a business called Weird Chicago Tours, who was paid between $300 to $500 for the lesson. Asked about the experience, Melvoin-Berg said he would “definitely do it again.” Well, duh.

University president Morton Schapiro wasn’t into it. “Although the incident took place in an after-class session that students were not required to attend and students were advised in advance, several times, of the explicit nature of the activity, I feel it represented extremely poor judgment on the part of our faculty member,” he said. “I simply do not believe this was appropriate, necessary or in keeping with Northwestern University’s academic mission.”

This isn’t Bailey’s first time at the sexually explicit rodeo. Previous “optional” class events include “a transsexual performer, two convicted sex offenders” and “a swinging couple.”
