Residents of Brooklyn’s Columbia Waterfront District are complaining about a “mountain of road salt” stored at the Red Hook container terminal between Baltic and Kane Streets. On windy days the salt blows around, says the Brooklyn Paper, and seasons things that weren’t meant to be salted, like the locks on your doors. Worse: “It definitely leaves a salty taste in your mouth,” says resident Lauren Young. (The salt will soon be dispersed to storage locations around the city.) [BP]
