Crystal Mangum, the woman who in 2006 accused three Duke University students of rape, was charged with murder on Monday, according to a Durham, North Carolina, police official. Mangum was arrested after her boyfriend Reginald Dave died from stabbing-related injuries. The stabbing occurred during a fight between the couple at the home Mangum and Dave shared. This isn’t Mangum’s first stabbing incident, either: In February 2010, she was charged with attempted murder after a fight with a different boyfriend. She was arrested after setting fire to a pile of the boyfriend’s clothes while her children were at home and charged with arson, identity theft, and resisting arrest. Said Mangum at the time of her 2010 arrest, “I do feel that I am being unjustly treated because of preconceived notions about my character in the media.”
