Donald Trump, the guy who is leading the Republican polls by a whopping nine points at the moment, may be doing it all as a ratings stunt. An anonymous NBC exec said that many at the network that runs his Celebrity Apprentice think he’s not playing it straight. “We at the network have no idea whether Trump is serious about [running for president] or not,” the executive said. “He won’t tell even us, and we haven’t pushed because we’ve just decided it is whatever it is. If he wants to spout off about things, we’re happy to let him. But our inclination is that he’s not serious about running for president. We think it’s a stunt.”
Coincidentally or not, ratings for Apprentice are up 20 percent. And oh! He’s scored the all-important Gary Busey endorsement!
