At a fund-raising event in San Francisco, President Obama mentioned that he needed another term in office “for us to finish everything we need to do.” At that moment, someone in the crowd shouted out “gay marriage!” (Oh, you, San Francisco.) According to the L.A. Times, Obama repeated “as if that person had just proved his point” that “‘our work is not finished.’” Expect this dance to continue until, oh, we don’t know, maybe November 7, 2012. Especially if even hints of his support of gay marriage push his GOP opponents farther to the right. [LAT]
