YouTube Founders Go Back to Their Internet ‘Roots’ and Buy Delicious From Yahoo

YouTube co-founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen just gave a bunch of Delicious loyalists a nerdgasm. The two are putting part of the $1.65 billion they got from selling to Google toward buying the pioneering bookmarking site. A leaked presentation from Yahoo seemed to indicate that the company wanted to “sunset” the service as part of its cost-cutting measures, but Yahoo claims it intended to find another home for Delicious even before the backlash from fans. Hurley, who left YouTube in November to launch a menswear line (yes, you read that right), and Chen positioned the move as “going back to their roots.” Famous co-founders, a rapid base of early adopters … is that a stampede of investors we hear in the distance?
