Among the many people who elected not to watch last night’s poorly attended Republican primary debate, the first of the 2012 campaign season, was, tellingly, Speaker of the House John Boehner. Instead, CBS News found him doing exactly what you imagine Boehner does on a nightly basis he was at a Morton’s Steakhouse “enjoying a bottle of Cabernet and a couple of cigarettes.” Regarding the debate, Boehner said he’d “read about it tomorrow,” but probably he won’t even read about it.
