Brooklyn borough chief Marty Markowitz really hates bike lanes. So much so that he would prefer that they exist not on the earthly plane, but rather in the sky. Today, Markowitz praised a project from Brooklyn Commons Project, an initiative to engage students in local urban planning projects. Participant Martin Angelov created a plan that relegated cyclists to strange — and terrifyingly dangerous — suspension lanes. “Elevated bike lanes — that’s the answer,” said Markowitz on viewing the project. Yes, Marty, we get it, you want bikers to plunge to their deaths from the air.
