Missouri Tornado Death Toll Rises to 116

That makes this weekend’s disaster the deadliest single tornado in the United States since 1953. But it’s been a terrible year in general — at least 481 people have died as a result of twisters so far this year, the earliest such a high number has ever been reached. According to the Storm Prediction Center, more tornadoes are expected tomorrow, from Kansas to Texas. We are, after all, only just now reaching the peak of the season. [Bloomberg]
