It’s starting to feel like we took a trip in the wayback machine: Earlier today, Newt Gingrich announced he was running for president, and tonight, Gingrich appeared on Fox News’s Hannity show to discuss his vision for America. Gingrich attempted to paint himself as a maverick outsider going up against President Obama’s smooth insider, despite the fact that Gingrich’s congressional career dates back to 1978. Gingrich explained that while President Obama “knows how to get the country to look like Detroit,” he could “get the whole country to resemble Texas.” Chilling.
