People Went Crazy on Airplanes Yesterday

Apparently yesterday’s acts of in flight insanity weren’t limited to the crazed man who tried to open the front door of a Continental plane while it was still in the air. Travelers aboard an American Airlines flight from Chicago to San Francisco were terrified when a man started pounding on the cockpit door and screaming unintelligibly. Flight attendants and passengers wrestled him to the ground, handcuffing him as the plane landed. The suspect, Rageit Almurisi, a 28-year-old Yemeni national, faces federal charges of interfering with a flight crew.

A note with the word “bomb” found in the bathroom of a Delta Airlines flight rounded out the trifecta of lunacy. That plane had to be diverted to Albuquerque, but no explosives were found. We know it’s been a nutty week or so, but now that everyone has gotten that out of their system, let’s go back to not freaking out our fellow passengers, shall we?
