Archbishop Timothy Dolan Has Been ‘a Little Down Recently’

A lot of New Yorkers spent the entire weekend rejoicing in the streets, but there was at least one person for whom the passage of Governor Cuomo’s Marriage Equality Act was nothing to celebrate. The Daily News caught up with Archbishop Timothy Dolan outside of mass at St. Patrick’s yesterday:

I sort of needed a good dose of the Lord’s grace and mercy because I’ve been down a little recently, as you might imagine,” the Catholic leader said after Mass Sunday. Steadfast in his opposition, Dolan continued to express disdain for the evolution of same-sex nups. “I think society and culture is at its peril if we presume to tamper with what has been given and already cherished through the history of civilization,” Dolan said.

Okay, okay. Traffic was bad on Fifth Avenue yesterday. But seriously, it should be all cleared up by now!
