As reported by the Daily News’ Ken Lovett, former New York Giant David Tyree believes that he may be part of a divine plan that goes something like this:
1. Allow a widely unknown football player to make a really good catch in the Super Bowl, catapulting him into the national spotlight for a couple of weeks.
2. Over three years later, have Tyree use whatever minuscule remnants of this God-given celebrity that remain to get attention for his opposition to gay marriage.
3. With flawless and compelling arguments, stop gay marriage in its tracks.
This is the best plan that God, with his infinite powers and wisdom, could come up with.
