On Andrea Mitchell Reports today, Mitchell wondered aloud if, after a mass resignation of top aides yesterday, Newt Gingrich’s calamitous run for president was about to cue a fat lady with a song. New York’s John Heilemann agreed, comparing Gingrich to Wile E. Coyote running around with his head chopped off, due to his decision to appear at Monday’s Republican debate.
