Jon Stewart Calls Fox News’ Chris Wallace ‘Insane’

While it’ll come as no surprise to anyone who’s ever watched him, Jon Stewart’s interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday got a little heated, with the Daily Show anchor telling the show’s host he is “insane.” The interview got off to a rousing start, with Wallace almost immediately calling Stewart out for his criticism of the network and its brand of news coverage and went exactly where you’d expect it to from there. After Wallace said that Stewart was just as biased as he criticized Fox for being, Stewart responded: “Here is the difference between you and I. I’m a comedian first. My comedy is informed by an ideological background, there’s no question about that.” Despite Wallace’s claims to the contrary, Stewart argued that he has no ambitions to be a political player and that part of why his voice is as loud as it is springs from the public’s disenchantment with the media. “Who are the most consistently misinformed media viewers?” Stewart asked at one point during the interview. “The most consistently misinformed? Fox. Fox viewers. Consistently. Every poll.”
