Newt Gingrich’s campaign is in its death throes because, after one of the worst rollouts in memory which included a Mediterranean cruise for some reason his entire staff quit rather than continue working for such a hopeless, pointless, moribund operation. So, naturally, Gingrich is blaming the media for his troubles, claiming it targeted him in order to protect President Obama. “I didn’t think they would realize this early just how dangerous this campaign is and go after it so hard,” he said yesterday.
