Who’s your favorite New Yorker, living or dead, real or fictional?
Oh my God, this is too hard! It’s a tie between Amy Poehler and Peter Stuyvesant.

What’s the best meal you’ve eaten in New York?
I’m gonna say Babbo, the octopus and also their mushroom pasta. But for my more everyday love I’ll say the limone pasta at Supper. (That’s my second double answer! I’m an indecisive Pisces.)

In one sentence, what do you actually do all day in your job?
I take care of my baby for much of the day, and try to find time to write my book.

What was your first job in New York?
First job in N.Y.: I played Cindy in The Real Live Brady Bunch — that was cast out of Chicago, though, and then I went back to Chicago. My first job as a real N.Y. resident: SNL!

What’s the last thing you saw on Broadway?
The last Broadway show was Good People. Loved it.

Do you give money to panhandlers?
I don’t on the subway, but I will on the street.

What’s your drink?
Wine.

How often do you prepare your own meals?
I used to rarely prepare my own meals, but with the baby I do more often. I do a lot of seamless web, though, too.

What’s your favorite medication?
Medication — um, Advil? What are you guys getting at here? I guess see: wine.

What’s hanging above your sofa?
This huge photo of the water in a pool that I love by a photographer named John Jaxheimer. Looks like you could dive right into it: It’s a vacation on the wall!

How much is too much to spend on a haircut?
What I spend.

When’s bedtime?
It used to be later, but now is around eleven or twelve. Of course now I’m waking up at 6:30 a.m.

Which do you prefer, the old Times Square or the new Times Square?
I wasn’t really here for the seedy old Times Square, so I don’t really know. I try to avoid it, though. Too crowded.

What do you think of Donald Trump?
Donald Trump is an interesting character who is becoming increasingly entertaining.

What do you hate most about living in New York?
The loud sirens: I think New York should lower the volume on their sirens. We could still hear them if they were, like, half as loud.

Who is your mortal enemy?
The negative self-talk in my head. That and the ghost of Hitler.

When’s the last time you drove a car?
Probably about a month ago on my last trip home to the Boston ’burbs.

How has the Wall Street crash affected you?
I think there are far fewer indie movies being made. Not that I was in that many of them before, but I could pretend the possibility existed.

Where do you go to be alone?
I like to think of my apartment as my sanctuary … my cluttered, toy-strewn, stroller-filled sanctuary.
