John Heilemann on Morning Joe: The Absurdity of Ongoing Debt Ceiling Talks

Today, New York columnist John Heilemann joined the Morning Joe crew and their ongoing debate about why talks to raise the country’s debt limit are taking, well, forever, noting that if lawmakers really wanted to “get it over with” they could do it, like now. “You know what’s required to raise the debt ceiling? One sentence,” Heilemann said. “When push comes to shove, you could do it in about an hour.”

Plus, Heilemann stopped by The Chris Matthews Show Sunday to discuss why the 2012 presidential election won’t be about hope, as 2008 was, but instead it will be about fear. See more in the video.
