Fire Tears Through Upper East Side Synagogue

A four-alarm fire tore through the historic Upper East Side Synagogue Monday evening, with heavy flames spitting through the roof of the five-story building. The synagogue, built in 1901, has been closed since May for renovations. Nobody was seriously injured, and its religious artifacts were housed elsewhere. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the synagogue has some bold names behind it: It’s the place where Ivanka Trump converted to Judaism, so they will get to the bottom of this.
